Operation Manager - North
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to work as part of a team to ensure every build runs smoothly from start to finish. This is primarily a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in high standards, and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will work closely with the management and be a point of contact for both clients and the team during the lead-up to events and on-site installation. You’ll provide clear guidance, reassurance, and practical solutions, ensuring builds are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
You will be responsible for coordinating crew members, and managing timings, layouts, and client and crew requirements. Clear communication and strong organisation are essential, as you’ll ensure all teams have the most up-to-date information for each event.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
Manage and supervise the seasonal crew team.
Schedule staff hours and manage workforce planning.
Record and report staff hours for payroll processing.
Lead, train, and motivate seasonal crew members to maintain high performance standards.
Yard & Logistics Management
Oversee yard operations to ensure a safe, organised, and productive working environment.
Lead the loading and unloading of vehicles for event installations and collections.
Schedule and manage equipment cleaning and preparation.
Vehicle & Fleet Management
Monitor vehicle condition reports and ensure maintenance requirements are addressed.
Manage fleet readiness to support operational schedules.
Operations Coordination
Work closely with the office teams to understand and support the operational and logistical requirements.
Coordinate closely with the scheduling team to ensure efficient planning of builds and de-rigs.
Ensure operational plans align with installation schedules.
Stock & Equipment Management
Monitor stock levels of marquee equipment and interiors.
Identify and report any stock shortages or equipment requiring repair or replacement.
Event Delivery
Lead the build and dismantle of marquee structures and interiors when required.
Work with suppliers, contractors, and clients on-site to ensure smooth event delivery.
Health & Safety
Work with the Managing Director to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place and followed.
Maintain clear communication of health and safety procedures across all teams.
Ensure safe working practices are maintained on-site and in the yard.
